The 3D Printing Course

The 3D Printing Course

Hi friends! I just wanted to give you a sneak peak at a course that’s being developed here at Blender Secrets (soon to be 3D Secrets). It’s a 3D printing course, developed by Tushar Ganesh.

Some early test prints of one of the lessons.

I first met Tushar in 2022, when a friend—who spoke highly of him as one of their top students—recommended him to help edit my “1-Minute Blender Secrets” videos. At the time, I was eager to devote more energy to updating my book, and teaching Blender to an editor felt far more daunting than showing a talented 3D artist the ropes of video editing. It turned out to be a fantastic decision: over the next two years, Tushar consistently went above and beyond, not only delivering polished edits but often designing eye-catching thumbnails as well (an example of which is the one for the “Drawing Tapered Ornaments” topic below).

As Blender Secrets’ sales tapered off, I gradually resumed editing myself. But Tushar and I stayed in touch—bonding over our shared passions for One Piece, manga, and Blender sculpting. Meanwhile, he built a thriving reputation in 3D printing, even expanding his own small team to meet growing demand. When he joined me at BCon in Amsterdam in 2024, he surprised me with a stunning “One Piece” Luffy-in-front-of-the-moon lamp that he’d 3D-printed himself.

Inspired by his dual expertise in Blender tutorials and 3D printing, we began brainstorming a dedicated course for Blender artists who want to master 3D printing. I agreed to lend feedback and support, and we planned to host it on my Blender Secrets platform.

Today, Tushar is deep into production—and I’ve enthusiastically volunteered as his very first student. Together, we’ve crafted a clear, beginner-friendly curriculum with two distinct tracks—PLA and resin printing—each in its own chapter. Beyond hands-on demos, he’s recording theory videos to explain why modeling for 3D printing differs so much from game or animation workflows. He’s even creating some bespoke tools using Geometry Nodes, that really help with the 3D printing workflow (I wish I had some of these tools years ago when working for clients, in fact…!)

Some tests made during development of the course topics.

I’m thrilled by how this course is taking shape, and we both can’t wait to share it with you. High-quality production takes time, so thank you for your patience.

About your instructor: Tushar Ganesh
Hey everyone, I'm Tushar, I've been an artist and a technical enthusiast for as long as i can remember. I took up architecture to meet my two interests but quickly found 3D was my true passion.

After graduating, I started freelancing as a video editor for Blender Secrets for a little more than 2 years. During which I explored a bit of almost everything 3D had to offer.

I soon found 3D printing was my true passion. The ability to bring your models to reality sparked a light in me. Over the years, I've worked with making Figurines based on mythology, human portraiture, animals, large wall murals, educational anatomical models for medical students, etc..

I've developed my own pipeline and addons to automate certain processes. I hope to share my knowledge with the world, I prefer to showcase Blender's capability in this sector and hopefully would get adapted in your pipeline.
